I enjoyed the Tiger King as a passive watching of a bizarre true crime series that is entrenched in the current zeitgeist. But there’s resources out there that focuses on the horrors these animals face. These depressing truths are glossed over in the show and are likely not evident to the average viewer.

So enjoy Tiger King for the wild true crime ride that it is, but also know that it doesn’t tell the whole story of these animals.
